Responsibilities includes,• Negotiate purchases to ensure lowest cost consistent with company standards for quality products• Continually research alternate sources for products in order to ensure the most competitive pricing• Maintain knowledge of the local representatives and distributors and build constructive relationships• Create and implement rules regulations and processes for purchasing• Reduced freight costs and find early pay discounts 12% in one period• Verified purchase requisitions by comparing items requested to master list and clarified unclear items• Forwarded available inventory items by verifying stock; scheduling delivery• Obtained purchased items by forwarding orders to suppliers; monitored and expediting orders• Kept information accessible by sorting and filing documents• Provided purchasing planning and control information by collecting analyzing and summarizing data and trends

• To exercise general control over all activities in Stores Department • To ensure safe keeping both as to quality and quantity of materials. • To maintain proper records. • To initiate action for arranging delivery when stock level decreases.• To check and receive the materials forwarded by the receiving department and to arrange for the storage in appropriate places. • To reserve a particular material for a specific job when so required. • To issue materials only in required quantities against authorized requisition notes/material lists. • To check the book balances, with the actual physical stock at frequent intervals by way of internal control over wrong issues, pilferage, etc• It is expected, that the Hotel Cost Controller is fully aware of the company standards with regard to purchasing/receiving/issuing and administration as outlined in the F&B Manual.• The Hotel Cost Controller is expected to know the job description of all the crewmembers in his Department.• Ensure that the set standards are kept and crew members work according to their respective job descriptions.• Check on existing standards by asking crew members of their opinion and suggest modifications to Financial Controller.
