Consult with SRNS Fire Protection Engineering to solve a real-life safety issue with potential failure of fire protection equipment/appliances during hydrostatic testing. Reviewed National Fire Protection Association (NFPA) codes and standards to identify testing requirements and determine a safe and acceptable method to test the devices. Toured a local fire department to become familiar with equipment and evaluate hazards during hydrostatic testing. Work continues to complete the conceptual design for a device to safely test appliances.
