Aside from her nonprofit background, her experiences include student leadership trainer for college and university student leaders, Freedom School trainer for the Children’s Defense Fund, program development and event planning. She currently serves on the program committee of the Guilford Nonprofit Consortium, the North Carolina Network of Grantmakers and is on the board of various community organizations.

Leads and manages all operational aspects of customized engagements for complex, large scale, global client initiatives ensuring flawless execution of CCL content. Engages as an equal member of the Client Account Team participating in the development of account strategies, delivery, and management of a customized engagement. Assumes lead client account team role beginning with contracting through all phases of execution: acts as primary client contact, successful delivery of content, quality, as well as managing risks, timelines, expectations, deliverables, and budget. Serves as the key integrator between all internal design and delivery systems and all operational systems.

Monique Steele works in the nonprofit sector and specializes in grantmaking. She is the sole Program Officer for the Community Foundation of Greater Greensboro. She is a part of a team that is responsible for the Foundation’s grantmaking program of approximately $1.7 million, including discretionary grants, scholarships and community initiatives. She supports the Foundations’ Grants and Scholarship committees and convenes community partners in developing grantmaking initiatives/strategic partnerships. Recently she led the Grants Team through a realignment process in order to respond to the current trends of the nonprofit sector due to the economic climate.

As the Nonprofit Resource Coordinator for the Greensboro Public Library, she planned and implemented over 200 classes and workshops for area nonprofits, increased the resource center materials by adding more than 160 new resources created new brochures and a resource pathfinder and developed a training manual for staff on how to use resources in the Nonprofit Resource Center.
