Serving as the Director of Technology for the Chagrin Falls Exempted Village School district, it is my responsibility to design the infrastructure and implement solutions that are conducive to a 21st century learning environment. In August of 2014, we equipped 1600 students in grades 3-12 with a Google Chromebook. The project required a massive overhaul to both our wired and wireless network, coordinated distribution and communication, and a professional development plan to ensure our staff was prepared for teaching in a 1:1 environment.

In this position, I serve the role of Director of Technology for the school district. I worked directly with the district administration to move technology forward in the school system. In the beginning, we implemented a new Windows based network infrastructure including Active Directory and Microsoft Exchange which lead to dramatic increasing in reliability and communication. During subsequent years, I lead a team of people responsible for projects included installing a wireless network at all buildings, designing sustainable equipment refresh plans, and creating a three year professional development plan that reached every staff member. Our solutions were collaborative, well thought out strategies based on proven designs and past experience.

As the leader of our education division, I serve as Director of Technology for several school districts and charter networks in Northeast Ohio. I have over 15 years of experience working with educational institutions on visioning, planning, budgeting, and implementing a wide variety of large-scale IT projects. These projects include rollouts of Google Apps for Education, designing and implementing wireless networks, email migrations, and bring your own device initiatives. I have been instrumental in the implementation of 1:1 programs at several schools and has vast knowledge in this area. My technology expertise and deep understanding of the K12 environment enable me to design custom technical solutions that align with a school's strategic vision. Using my practical education experience, I am not only able to design custom solutions, but show schools how they can easily move from a conceptual idea to an actual implementation of the appropriate technical solution.

The Edge Network was formed by myself and two other individuals in February, 2007. Our main focus was to create an affordable solution for school districts to reduce their IT department costs through managed services while maintaining access to all the resources that a successful IT department requires. We contracted with several schools districts in Northeast Ohio and the organization grew. Our accomplishments with these clients lead to the company to be acquired within fourteen months of its creation. My role at The Edge Network was to handle the technical aspects of our organization as well as our major clients. A typical day included managing the day to day break / fix tickets, handling any "fires" that might come up, project work, and meeting with district personal to design creative solutions to solve various problems.
