I have an early childhood education degree from Salisbury University, and I gained experience planning and coordinating events whilst a member of my sorority’s executive committee. Actively engaging in community service has been a passion of mine since high school which has motivated me to seek out volunteer organizations and philanthropy events throughout my life.As an educator I gained a multitude of transferable skills including organization, data entry and tracking, classroom management, and administrative duties. I am flexible and quick on my feet which allows me to quickly adapt to the unexpected. I love working with children and social emotional learning and play were deeply involved in my teaching philosophy.During my time in Phi Mu Fraternity I was provided many opportunities to both coordinate and execute events related to fundraising, service, and recruitment. I independently planned all events related to our sorority’s new members, including a retreat, recruitment celebration, and big-little reveal. Coordinating with the university, community, and other on-campus organizations was necessary to ensure my events ran smoothly. Successfully fulfilling my responsibilities as Phi Director resulted in me receiving recognition as sorority woman of the month from the Panhellenic Council. Prior to Phi Mu, I was Vice President of my Key Club where I interacted with current and potential service partners to coordinate programs that solved community needs. Executing these events involved tracking member attendance and managing arising problems. Throughout my time in Phi Mu and Key Club I balanced my position and academic responsibilities while also maintaining a job. I have 10 years of customer service experience primarily related to food and bar service. These experiences have left me with exceptional customer service skills, bartending and cash handling experience, and the confidence to be very comfortable interacting with diverse groups of people. I currently live in Baltimore City where I volunteer with Repair the World, a Jewish organization whose goal is to engage with volunteers and connect them with local organizations to promote meaningful service. My involvement with Repair the World has provided me with valuable insight to the needs of Baltimore City and has allowed me to engage with and give back to my community.Currently I am in search for an organization where I can utilize the plethora of skills I have gained throughout my teacher education, classroom experiences, and continued commitment to community service.
