I am a senior at the University of North Texas currently in the process of earning a bachelor’s degree in accounting for May 2024. I will then pursue a master's in Taxation and Data analytics which I hope to finish in December 2025. While obtaining my accounting degree, I am seeking an entry-level tax accountant position for Spring 2024. In my current position as an Audit Intern at Vail & Park P.C., I've gained many valuable on-site industry skills when shadowing my supervisor at the firm. For instance, I've gained experience in performing reconciliation procedures as well as sampling procedures for AP. I've learned how to perform fieldwork for an audit and manage work papers using the Advance Flow software. All in all, this experience has given me some of the necessary audit engagement skills and financial audit skills for an external auditing career. Thus, Vail & Park also opened the door for me in the accounting industry in many ways. I am very grateful for this opportunity and I look forward to learning additional skills at Vail & Park P.C.Having spent five years in the food industry, I am knowledgeable in providing proficient and diplomatic professional customer service. Working as a cook as well as a server has allowed me to prioritize duties and show a strong ability to multitask as I account for multiple food orders and stock inventory. Through this experience in working within a fast-paced environment, I am proficient at problem-solving, communication as well as ensuring customer satisfaction. Passionate about technology and the accounting industry, I believe these skills would be a great addition to a tax accounting internship when helping clients with their financial reports and ensuring tax compliance. I am very excited for an opportunity to gain experience in this field of accounting as it progresses my future career.
