As a sales & marketing intern in a start-up my role expanded beyond the boundaries of the job description and into all areas of the business. I found a passion for account management, dealing with clients and various stakeholders and learning to manage projects from start to finish. The team where very passionate about the business and that led to a vibrant, supportive and innovative culture which i believe led to the success of the start-up.My day-to-day would include prospecting and driving sales, communicating with stakeholders and meeting their needs, relaying all relevant information to the necessary departments and composing compelling pitch's. On the marketing side, i would develop digital marketing strategies, set metrics and use primary data to make suggestions to the strategy of the marketing campaign.

My role here was to work closely with clients to list their property for a price they are happy with and find them a suitable buyer. The market at the time was excellent to work in as the turnover of houses was extremely fast paced; often a house would be sold on the first visit.A typical week for me would consist of appointment setting, conducting viewings or consultations and maintaining a solid relationship with all stakeholders. This was my first real test of one to one sales, i learnt quickly how to mirror somebodies mood and nurture a sale to completion. Upon reflection i confidently say honesty is the best policy and work towards helping the customer, not selling to them.

Daily tasks included supervision of a small team of 7-8 staff members while tending to customers needs and creating a tailor made holiday for our guests.
