• Led acquisition of Project Angel from AT&T Wireless after exhaustive evaluation of fixed wireless technologies including W-CDMA/CDMA2000, TD-SCDMA, MIMO-OFDM, smart antenna, DECT/PHS, GSM/GPRS/EDGE, 802.16a/WiMax, and 802.11.• Developed platform strategy and architecture for next generation IP-based LMDS product line based on a mesh topology and switched Ethernet/VLAN (802.1p/q) metropolitan area networking.• Represented Netro’s interests in IEEE 802.16 and ETSI BRAN standards activities for wireless metropolitan area networking.• Defined 2nd generation of Netro's point-to-multipoint wireless asynchronous transfer mode (ATM) system to focus on improving price/performance by 100%, delivering carrier-class availability, and supporting legacy telecom services such as Frame Relay. This Gen2 system led to investment by UK cable operator NTL and secured a system integrator relationship with Lucent Technologies. • Netro completed a successful IPO in 1998 at a valuation of $350M and a secondary offering in 1999 at a valuation of $4B.

• Cofounder, System Architect and Engineering Manager for Wireless Broadband Product Group. Invented point to multipoint wireless ATM physical and MAC layer protocols for both millimeter wave and microwave frequencies. Led multi-disciplinary development team including ASIC, hardware, mechanical, embedded and network management software engineers. • Drove adoption of Stanford Telecom's technology by DAVIC digital audio visual standards body. • Secured partnerships with Hewlett Packard and Alcatel for radio units.• The Wireless Broadband Products Group was sold for $340M to Newbridge Networks which was subsequently acquired by Alcatel for $4B.
