A native Spanish speaker with experience living, working and teaching in several different Spanish-speaking countries, I am fluent in regional dialects and cultures from Spain, Mexico, the Caribbean and South America. I have over 5 years teaching experience as a Mass D.O.E. licensed Spanish teacher for grades 7-12 as well as over 12 years as a private tutor for all ages and skill levels. I've taught corporate groups and individuals, adult professionals and students, and I tailor my private lessons to the needs, learning styles and interests of each individual. I use a combination of printed materials, audio-visual supports, conversational and written practice exercises to address all aspects of language with students who want a comprehensive understanding of the language, as well as having focused solely on one or two areas for those with specialized needs or preferences.

The Work Force is a comprehensive after-school educational enrichment and work-readiness program for low-income teens in Cambridge public housing. Holistic in design, the program provides participants with sustained networks of learning and support over a critical five-year span: from the eighth grade through high school graduation. Our goal is to help our participants to acquire the wide range of skills necessary for long-term success.

Russell Youth Center

The Cambridge Youth Programs aim to enrich the social, recreational and intellectual skill development of youth ages 14–19. The Cambridge Youth Centers offer high quality programs that promote leadership and youth development through enrichment activities, unique experiences, and opportunities to develop relationships with adults and peers. These programs enable Cambridge youth to prepare for future employment, higher education, citizenship and adult life.In its Teen Programs, small groups of adolescents work with adults to focus on skill-building and developmental outcomes. Our enrichment programs help young people broaden their world vision through workshops, field trips and guest speakers.In this role I also directed the "Girls Taking Action" summer work and learning site of the Cambridge Mayor's Summer Youth Employment Program (MSYEP). In my tenure as Director of this program, our work was awarded "Best of the Best" recognition by MSYEP and City of Cambridge Leadership for programmatic excellence, student engagement and enrichment, and achievement of 21st century outcomes.

Manager and supervisor for 5 distinct teen technology internship programs funded by a grant from Microsoft. In my position I also worked on development and planning for various other programs, events and projects through the Cambridge Youth Programs.

Dorchester, Ma

The Little House Middle School is an Alternative Middle School program in Dorchester. We are part of the non-profit, Federated Dorchester Neighborhood Houses and our students are referred to us by the Boston Public Schools or the Juvenile Justice System. Our program is for students who have not been successful in Boston Public Schools due to truancy or involvement in DYS or the court system. Our goal is to prepare these students, both academically and socially, to reintegrate into regular public high school after graduating from Little House.
