    In February 2020, I left the full-time employment of the City of Sydney to take up a contract role. Within 3-weeks the employment landscape changed completely, and with it, the evaporation of the role I was expecting to enter. Unsuspectingly I and many parents were thrust into what we have come to know as “Home Learning” AKA “Tag, you’re it!”.As with all my previous roles, I took up the mantle and quickly pivoted to meet the challenges and demands of an ever-changing landscape. As an aside, you have not fully understood the meaning of “Agile” until you’ve had to deliver three subjects a day to two young children, who are trying to give you the run-around, emotionally and mentally. “Sprints” were no longer an abstract concept, but part of our daily exercise routine in place of PE and every day was an "Iterative" process.Amidst these challenges, I became an expert at both domestic and global logistics (thanks Prime Delivery!), a culinary expert (Jamie who?) and an expert in the world of Google Classroom and Google Suite (raise your hand if you’ve found image alignment in Google Docs less than desirable, anyone?). As my “employees” returned to work (school, because I’m not a monster!) my wife was given the opportunity to reach her goal of becoming a Director and after much consideration (not really, I jumped at the opportunity) I decided to stay on in the role to support our Company (family) growth as we navigated the rest of 2020 and 2021.
