One of the leading providers of messaging technology to carriers, enterprises and governments, at one time, Critical Path ran one third of the world's email through it's software and services. Responsible for technology strategy, product development, marketing, world-wide pre-sales. I became involved with this company upon selling DocSpace to it in 2000. This experience was mostly a turnaround, recapitalizing and rebuilding an early stage, public technology company. Over a thousand layoffs, products EOL'd, offices shutdown, managing through DOJ/SEC investigations, NASDAQ delistings, telecom crash...and raising over 100 million in private equity. We got back to profitability and eventually, after I left, the company was taken private by majority shareholders.

Created one of the first cloud services, enabling people to store, share and deliver their documents on the Internet. As CTO, responsible for technology strategy, product development, team building and getting this company from launch to sale in under 24 months. We sold 7 days before the peak of the market in 2000 for over $500M.

One of the first 10 employees on a small team that built Zip2's local search engine. Zip2 was later sold to Altavista for $300M in cash. A great experience and my first taste of Silicon Valley.
