Krystal Stone, an enrolled member of the Klamath Tribes, is a native Oregonian and operates a working ranch on her tribal homelands in Chiloquin. With a background in utilities and operations management, Krystal began her career in telecom in 2013 with Astound (formerly CoastCom). She found success in the development and implementation of billing and provisioning processes to streamline and advance the CLEC VoIP product offering to local governments and businesses. Krystal was formerly the inter-carrier relation manager, managing billing and regulatory reporting, working closely with carriers on colocation, augments, ordering unbundled loops, centrex, resold services, and also managed the full porting process. After pivoting to work on large and complicated brownfield projects as an Optical Engineer, she became the Manager of Network Engineering managing a team of core network provisioners. She utilizes this technical background in her most recent role as the State of Oregon Broadband, Equity, Access, and Deployment (BEAD) Coordinator where she also represents the nine confederated tribes of Oregon on broadband interests for the state of Oregon.In 2022 Krystal was presented the Outstanding Telecommunications Advocate Award by the Oregon Connections Conference award committee. She is seen by her peers and mentors as a local champion for broadband.Outside of telecom, Krystal helps organize youth sport teams, creates affordable housing in the state of Oregon, and participates in tribal events with her husband Greg, and children Lance and Ava.
