About Matthew Stover
I am an experienced web developer who for the past 10+ years has contributed to large teams and led small teams producing responsive and effective websites. Co-workers and management have frequently complimented my ability to blend project requirements with technical solutions in such a way that keeps projects moving forward. While I have competed client projects individually, I appreciate the dynamic of working with a strong team which enables success for everyone involved. In my most recent position this dynamic allowed me to continually progress in the skills required to be promoted from an entry level developer to a senior developer and eventually a tech lead. This progression eventually let to being awarded as a top performer among my peers. From a process and team perspective I have helped develop internal design and code style guides, participated in code reviews and helped to manage automated deployment processes.Technologically speaking my primary strengths are in designing and developing all aspects of the front-end user experience. Additionally, I have also worked with several backend scripting languages to produce the presentation layer including building CRUD apps and apis. Some of backend platforms I’ve used include PHP, NodeJS, Java, RoR and .Net. CSS via LESS or SASS have been my go to approaches to bring attractive and modern designs to the screen, but I am also familiar with upcoming approaches in styling for modular content such as CSS Modules and BEM. With regard to front-end scripting, I have several years of experience using javascript to enhance and build the user experience including the use of Ajax, NodeJS, JQuery, and the MVC paradigm. I also have some exposure to single page app frameworks such as Angular and React and am continuing to strengthen my skills in this realm via self-study.
