I am starting a research assistantship position in undergrad with my program director and senior capstone professor. I am helping him with a grant he was given to study the performance of buildings and people’s performance in those buildings on UC campus. It ties in with a new standard called the Work Well Building Standard that is missioned to grade buildings on many different areas of wellness for people inside them. Essentially, another architecture student and myself will collect weather data, measurement data, and other data on site, and model facades of offices in several buildings around campus that are part of the study. The goal is to see how well the buildings are performing to meet the needs of its inhabitants. I am excited to be involved in this project and to begin research for the first time!
