DOD Civilian Contractor:Currently I am employed as a PSS/Escort/Driver by AR Services under the DTRA (Defense Threat Reduction Agency) along side the Department of Defense. I work in Pueblo, Colorado at the Pueblo Chemical Department (PCAPP) and I escort inspectors or foreign diplomats around the job site and see that they make it to and from work, to their home base. While on duty, it is my job to maintain all vehicles assigned to my post, and keep track and provide security to inspectors visiting American Territories that work for OPCW (Organization for the Prohibition of Chemical Weapons). While inspectors are in the country, I escort them, constantly being around them 24/7 and update logs of any interactions or incidents that occur. We move them throughout city limits within their own set boundaries while carrying a 9mm handgun to serve as protection in a low profile vehicle. As a driver/escort, I would follow certain timelines and guidelines set by our on-site manager to successfully make sure they were escorted safely to destinations they were supposed to be at. Any problems that occurred, the inspectors would report to me so that I could either document, and either escalate the situation or handle it as need be.SOC DoS Civilian Contractor: (EDD Canine Handler)When I initially started working for SOC, I was assigned to the original WPS contract. My rotations were 105 days boots on ground, and 35 days of leave. I was a EDD canine handler working for the US Embassy in Baghdad, Iraq. My daily tasks included roving patrols around the embassy and being assigned to control vehicle checkpoints around the area. I was armed with a 9mm handgun and an M4 assault rifle. I would perform vehicle inspections on every vehicle that passed through our checkpoints. Everyday, I would document the daily tasks, whether we found anything or not. Training with my K9 would occur everyday on post or at our designated training site. I would perform daily maintenance on my K9, make sure he was up to date and doing veterinarian check ups as needed. Afterwards, any event was documented and sent up to my kennel master. When I was in the USA, I would have to re-certify before being redeployed again to Iraq through the state department with my K9.
