For 4 years I was the AMR Special Programs Coordinator, responsible for the policy/procedure development, business procurement, hiring, training, and overall management of the RAT Program, Wildfire Response Program, and River Rescue Program.Assigned as a part-time Supervisor and Field Training Officer and routinely traveled to other operations to teach or assist teaching various subjects, mainly rescue oriented. I also was part of the AMR Disaster Response Team and had a lead role in the infancy of the DRT in the NW area; specifically the scheduling and pre-deployment orientation of crews departing to the Gulf States in response to Hurricane Katrina. I also acted as a Team Leader for a deployment to the city of New Orleans immediately after the landfall of the hurricane.
