About Murray R. "Murf" Clark

I’m here to collaborate by sharing ideas and expertise with the LinkedIn community. I have a wide range of interests, including strategic planning and visioning, leadership development, global logistics, commercial and military aviation, flight training, and complex scenario planning. I am most proud of the work I’ve done to educate and develop other leaders, by applying proven leadership models, providing personalized mentorship, and sharing lessons learned from my own study of past leaders and leadership. I believe organizations thrive by building mission-driven strategies while keeping in mind the people who must execute those strategies; methodologies that optimize both individual and collective success also create organizational cohesion, positive culture, and institutional resilience.Leaders trust me to remove barriers to success, focus teams on goals, and improve performance. Those teams excel because we foster cultures of inclusion, demand disciplined execution, and encourage open communication and constructive feedback. In times of chaos and uncertainty, I remain calm and help people confidently navigate crises while mitigating known and foreseeable risks. I prepare leaders to anticipate challenges, adapt to change, and prepare for the unexpected. Ensuring good outcomes requires thoughtful planning, intentional leadership, and vigorous execution.“A Pilot with a degree in Poetry.” That’s how I sometimes jokingly describe myself (the degree was actually in “Language Arts,” but my thesis was on poetry). I've had multiple opportunities to indulge my passion for learning and teaching, as a student and professor at colleges and universities across the US. I’ve taught leadership, public speaking, writing, flying, literature, change management, and even youth sports as a volunteer coach. I’ve enjoyed speaking to groups about principles of team leadership, and I stretch my own comfort zone with a bit of singing in public, as a cantor at church. Please feel free to reach out to me directly through LinkedIn or at murf.clark@icloud.com.
