MARK V. SANTO PROFILEMark serves as the President and CEO of the Cleveland Council on World Affairs, The Council is a dynamic catalyst of international programming, international educational outreach and global economic programs serving Northeast Ohio.Mark is an accomplished senior executive in the fields of international business, law, and finance. Mark began his international legal career following his graduation from Georgetown University Law Center with a post graduate law degree in International and Comparative Law. Over a twenty year career in international law, business and finance and traveling the world many times over, Mark has acquired an extensive network of international associates and colleagues at the highest levels of law, business, academia, and world affairs. Early in his career, Mark joined the Finmeccanica Group of Rome, Italy, one of Europe’s largest aerospace conglomerates. Mark joined Finmeccanica as its chief US based counsel and was posted by Finmeccanica to its largest US operation, the Bailey Controls Company of Wickliffe, Ohio in 1990 where he served as Elsag Bailey’s Group Vice President and General Counsel. Mark has also worked extensively in the early stage technology sector. In 2003, Mark acquired Parvus Corporation, a small aerospace electronics group based in Salt Lake City on behalf of a European-based embedded systems conglomerate, the Eurotech Group. Following this acquisition, Mark served as President of Parvus Corporation and successfully led the restructuring pf Parvus and grew its revenue and profitability over the next three years. In addition to his Presidency of the Cleveland Council on World Affairs, Mark is an advisor on international economy matters to both the City of Cleveland and Ohio's Director of International Development. He is a frequent speaker on the global economy and U.S. foreign policy.
