I'm a network operations center (NOC) technician who's passionate about learning networking, computing, and complex systems in general: there's something about figuring out how all the ticking parts beneath the surface that gets me up in the morning.I'm currently studying for my CCNA, as well as learning technologies through a few other projects. At time of writing, that's setting up virtual machines to learn Windows Server and Active Directory, technologies I've touched on in the past but never got to learn with the depth I wanted to.I went to school for computer engineering at Texas A&M University. While I am not quite in that field anymore, the courses I took on networking and computer systems nurtured a life-long fascination with the workings of computers and computer networks. The internet is the most complex system we have in society, and I'm proud that I can be part of maintaining the systems surrounding it.Outside of technology, I also have a wealth of other hobbies: writing, cooking, and sewing especially. I'm quite proud of my Singer 66, a vintage 1913 sewing machine that I got back into running shape myself and am currently using to make stuffed animals for my nieces and nephews.
