Industrial designer focusing on mechanical design. My career has focused on tool design and design for manufacturing, in the toolmaking, materials production, automotive and mining industries. I have 5 years+ experience in aluminium extrusion, covering extrusion section and die design, die manufacturing, die correction, extrusion plant commissioning/operations and materials post processing.I furthered my experience in tooling design with my role at PWR focusing on form/press tool design, where I would undertake the whole process from tool design, manufacturing, testing and commissioning. During this time I was heavily involved in the design of automotive manufacturing and assembly machinery/plant, I have experience in design for PLC controlled systems, machine design/engineering and supplier relations/procurement.I am currently working as a mechanical designer, with focus on producing mechanical solutions in the mining industry, with other responsibilities focusing on engineering documentation.Throughout all my roles, my strength has been in my interest and experience in a diverse range of manufacturing methods. Working within machine shops and around 3 & 5 axis machining centres, cnc lathes, multitasking machines, industry leading additive manufacturing and sheet metal manufacturing. I have extensive experience in EDM spark erosion and wirecut operating, programming and electrode design. I also have experience in manual lathes, mills and surface grinding.
