Nancy was raised in the Mississippi Delta where much of her family still resides. She attended Washington School and graduated from the University of MS in 1978 with a Bachelor of Arts in Education where she was a member of Phi Mu Fraternity. She later returned to Ole Miss for additional studies and in 2004, received a Master of Arts in Teaching from Grand Canyon University. After spending 13 years in public education in the classroom, Nancy was named Director of the Attala Educational Center in Kosciusko. She served as the project manager for the new ATTALA Center and served as the director until her retirement in 2017. Nancy has served on numerous boards such as the Kosciusko Rotary Club, The Boys and Girls Club of Kosciusko, Ability Works, The Kosciusko Attala Partnership, and the Mississippi Association of Community and College Education (MAACE). She is past president of MAACE and served as Assistant District Governor and past president of Rotary. She has been honored as the MAACE Outstanding Director of the Year 3 times.Nancy has been involved with the educational needs and opportunities for the Mississippi Army National GUARD and the other military branches for 15 years. She was instrumental in helping Holmes Community College become recognized as a military friendly institution for service members and their families. She continues to work with recruiters and students enrolled in the college in an effort to give back to those who paid so much for our freedoms. She has traveled with the GUARD to the Pentagon and GUARD Bureau in Washington D.C. where she served as an educational representative due to her work with the military. Nancy has spent 28 years in public education and treasures the time spent with her students over the years. Her greatest accomplishment is being called Mother to 2 daughters and Grandmother to 3 grandchildren ages 8, 5, and 2.
