I am a passionate person and employee working to educate and support those facing neurological injuries or illnesses needing intensive neurological rehabilitation. I have also become a staunch advocate for rare disease care and research after an 11 yr journey to diagnosis my now 18 year old son with Friedreich's Ataxia. I am proud to serve on 3 steering committees including an ELSI committee for a NIH grant supported pediatric research project, a PCORI grant focused on those families and children with rare disease, and a DEI committee working on health disparities in underserved communities. In these roles I have been a part of group work accepted at various national professional conferences. I have also contributed to two textbooks both currently in the process of publication and have headed up multiple professional conferences, recruiting national speakers to ensure our staff never rely on yesterday's knowledge when treating today's patients.
