Along with John K. Doull raised capital and submitted an application (which was granted) to the Kansas State Banking Board for a State Charter and the Federal Reserve to open a de novo community bank (Cornerstone Bank). I have served as the Executive Vice President and Cashier. I currently serve as Executive Vice President, Director on the Bank's Board and on the Loan, ALCO, Audit, EDP and Compliance Committees and help with the daily management of the Bank. My various responsibilities have been to research and recommend the operating systems of the bank which included backroom operations, the bank's general ledger, new account system, teller system, loan systems for commercial, consumer, in house real estate and secondary market mortgage loans. My responsibilities have also included Call Report preparation, human resources, bank security, compliance, mortgage lending and developing a mortgage and consumer construction loan division and supervising employees in the various departments. I have been instrumental in hiring various key employees to serve as the Bank's management team for the various departments.Serving at Cornerstone Bank has been and continues to be a satisfying and growing experience that has helped me become a better person and a better banker.

One of the four founding officers of the de novo community bank opening in 1989. Designed and developed the secondary market mortgage loan and consumer construction loan divisions. Served as cashier, consumer and commercial lender. Developed and implemented several areas of the bank, which included the operations, commercial and consumer loan processing departments. Additional responsibilities included preparation of the Call Report, SBA Report, Corporate Board Reports, Marketing and Advertising and Bank Compliance.

Served in several capacities within the organization including Cashier, Assistant Cashier/Loan Officer, Loan Processor, New Accounts Representative, Teller. Supervised 15 bank employees. Interviewed prospective employees, made hiring recommendations and monitored training. Notified and instructed employee in new and updated compliance regulations and appropriate security and banking procedures. Handled accounting, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, general ledger and balanced loan portfolios. Invested in and monitored jumbo certificates of deposit. Verfied bank deposits and bank reconciliations, monitored payroll for bank employees. Balanced general ledger accounts daily. Facilitated commercial, installment, real estate and construction loans. Reviewed and collected past-due loans and repossessed collateral when necessary.
