In this role, I triangulated themes across multiple assessment sources to try to identify areas for Peer Assisted Learning (PAL) Program improvement. These assessment sources included surveys and questionnaires that were sent to students on campus that had participated in the PAL program. I reported these findings to the Assistant Coordinator for Peer Assisted Learning bi-weekly. After my first semester as a tutor at Clemson's Academic Success Center, I elected to undergo more training to become a College Reading and Learning Association Level Three Certified Tutor. This training allowed me to become a Tutor Mentor. While in this role, I assisted with training new tutors each semester. I also met bi-weekly with the Assistant Coordinator for Tutoring to discuss program updates and improvements. Furthermore, I was in charge of planning, preparing, and facilitating monthly meetings for the Science Cluster. This community group consisted of my colleagues that supported courses in the sciences. My role as a Tutor Mentor sharpened my communication and organizational skills as I acted as a liaison between my colleagues and the Assistant Coordinator for Tutoring.

I was hired by Clemson’s Academic Success Center (ASC) to tutor students in organic chemistry (CH 2210/2230/2240). I took a course through the ASC that explored the dynamics of tutoring based on the qualifications set forth by the College of Reading and Learning Association (CRLA). I emerged from this course as a Level Two Certified Tutor. In tandem with the course, I held drop-in tutoring sessions twice per week, and I worked with approximately seven tutees at each session. During these times, students came to me with issues, and I worked with them to review concepts and solve practice problems. My sessions focused on facilitating learning and promoting group collaboration when appropriate.

My responsibilities included answering phones and scheduling appointments. I used Capstone software to check patients into the system and complete their bill at the end of their appointment. I filed patient records and faxed information to other veterinary clinics in the area as well. Additionally, I ordered necessary food products and medicines that Dr. Stringer needed by contacting several corporations on a weekly basis. Unfortunately due to my status as a full-time college student I was unable to continue working at Stringer Animal Hospital North during the academic school year.
