2012 and Sports Lead Officer, Tunbridge Wells Borough CouncilLead officer for sports development and youth development; assisting sports clubs with funding applications (both local and national), finding training courses where required and working with Kent Youth Service to ensure youth provision is present in the borough. Management of council budgets for 2012 celebrations, sports development and youth development, totaling over £180,000, including authorising invoices.Management of sport and culture passport for a year of events including liaising with community groups and sports clubs, compiling information for passport and negotiating prizes.Management and co-ordination of school holiday events programs, recruitment and management of casual staff, negotiating pay and terms and conditions, booking venues, completing venue risk assessments and publicising activities.Working closely with relevant departments including communications, graphics and parks and sports team to ensure joined up approach.Management of the council’s youth bus, including the casual driver, working in partnership with the Kent Youth Service.Use of social media including Facebook and Twitter to publicise activities and interact with the communityProducing publicity and press releases for all Council events – including working with graphics department to design literature.Working on the Torch relay event; attending countywide meetings and updating on local plans, liaising with torch relay sponsors for the day, main contact for local schools to aid in their planning, on the day event management including crowd control.Organisation of an awards ceremony including booking guest speakers and venues, producing publicity, writing to all nominees and nominators, writing speeches for senior management and the Mayor and organising for all trophies to be purchased and engraved.
