Worked with Andrea Lyon, defense counsel for Gerald Reed, sentenced to death in the Cook County Court system, whose petition of review was granted when police officer John Burge’s scheme for torturing confessions out of suspected persons was brought to light. •Reviewed trial and appellate transcripts, motions, and statements to be prepared for retrial. •Researched, drafted, and submitted motions for the court’s review of whether or not a special prosecutor would be needed to retry the case.
