Conducted food policy research and analysis to contribute to the food-climate-health nexus and advance the administration’s goal to reach a more equitable, sustainable, and healthy food system.Food and Climate: supported the drafting of the Office of Food Policy's first climate and environment strategy, spanning issues including procurement, watershed protection, food waste, and regional food production; shared the city's food and climate work at UNFCCC COP 28 and in global texts; and, collaborated across the public and private sectors to reduce the environmental impact of the food system.International Affairs: authored NYC Food Policy SDG Progress Report, linked local governance to the international food-climate-health space and supported city food policy regional linkages. Led global food policy efforts, and connected sustainable food procurement goals to our values-based Good Food Purchasing initiative.Nutrition Education: advanced nutrition and gardening education in NYC public schools; created a one-pager on our work in NYC school meals and nutrition education, promoted food-as-medicine & lifestyle medicine in NYC hospitals, and plant-forward diets in the discourse surrounding chronic disease prevention in schools, hospitals, detention facilities, older adult centers, shelters, and more.

Develop sustainable development, climate, global citizenship, and environmental educational content, as outlined in UN SDG 4 Target 4.7. Worked with our partners at UNESCO and Columbia University’s Climate School on Greening Curriculum and Ages of Globalization.

Collaborate with academic institutions across the globe to address gaps in current knowledge and stimulate relevant policy discussions, leading to the implementation of the 2030 Sustainable Development Agenda. Coordinated the Earth Justice Through Gardening and Nutrition Project at a public middle school in Harlem.

Examined programs initiated by people of color in NYC for improving nutrition and health conditions, and the contributions they made to community advancement/policy.

Supported the development, growth, and success of elementary school students in East New York, Brooklyn through mentorship and both English Language Arts and Math tutoring. Led the environment club for 3-5th graders teaching students urban farming, environmental justice, and climate. Strategic Partnership & Donor Engagement: spoke on Day of Service panels, facilitated a donor engagement session for 25 corporate employees, led 70 volunteers in an in-person service day event, and communicated City Year's mission to current and potential donors. I received training in Adobe, social media branding, and marketing at non-profits.

Supported the writing and development of virtual environmental science, gardening, and nutrition curriculum for the UC Davis Student Farm’s Kids in the Garden Program.

Educator: taught, developed curriculum, and led tours, field trips, and outdoor education lessons to groups of 10-25 kids ages 4 to 18, totaling over 400 kids. Agriculture: completed farm tasks such as setting up and fixing irrigation, crop harvesting, compost management, harvesting, etc. twice a week for three hours at a time.

Instructed 5 different first, second, and third-grade classes of approximately 25 students at a time teaching environmental science lessons. Provided further education experience, as well as cooperative curriculum design and execution.
