Assisting Peak’s Climate Team, I contributed my experience in local climate planning, and education on greenhouse gas reduction and climate resilience and equity to the development of a service to help small cities with their climate planning. I gained experience in the collaborative and dynamic environment of a small consulting firm, was given the opportunity to extend my initial internship period, and received an offer to stay on as an employee after graduation.

As the Outreach and Communications Coordinator for the Sustainability Engagement Institute, I revived and took over management of the Institute's social media, designed and created posters and social media content for all Institute events, and assisted SEI staff in creating outreach plans for events and programs. I shared other campus and community sustainability-related events and resources through SEI channels, and took over writing of the SEI's monthly newsletter.

As a sustainability mentor, I supported the second cohort of the Climate Leadership Certificate program through their summer practicums. I helped students connect their experiences to climate leadership and their future career goals, and provided them with professional development resources. I provided administrative support to ensure students were able to complete AmeriCorps service and gain education awards in addition to their practicum pay. In late summer, I created and enacted an outreach plan for marketing the third cohort of the Climate Leadership Certificate program. I created physical and digital marketing materials, reached out to staff and faculty, gave presentations in classes, tabled across campus, facilitated an open house, and met with students interested in applying. Due to the outreach efforts I led, the program received a record number of applicants for cohort 3.

Working with the Climate and Energy Manager at CoB, I became part of the 2021 ICLEI Community GHG Inventory cohort, learning ClearPath software to construct U.S. Community Protocol-compliant inventories. I then collected data for and constructed 6 years of GHG inventories for the city, and completed 2021 CDP reporting requirements, while compiling detailed process notes for future years.
