About Natasha Havrilenko
One of Natasha’s first report cards dubbed her as a “chatterbox”. While that wasn’t looked upon favourably in grade school, Natasha found merit in the nickname and explored her love of communicating through to post secondary education and the workforce. Natasha Havrilenko graduated from The University of Winnipeg’s Public Relations, Marketing, and Strategic Communications program in the summer of 2016. Prior to returning to student life, she worked as a Life Book Biographer where she created biographies for individuals living with a disability. Natasha’s contract biography position was so successful that she was hired to teach others within the organization her craft. This position transformed Natasha from being a communications addict to a communications advocate, instilling the belief that everyone deserves to have their story heard.Natasha couples her love of the arts and volunteering by acting as Vice Chair for send + receive, an international festival of sound art. Further, Natasha served as the Director of Marketing and Communications on a volunteer basis for Rainbow Trout Music Festival for over three years. Natasha’s passion for the arts doesn’t end there, as she was the Co-Founder and Editor of rip/torn magazine, a submission-based art and literary publication that seeks to honour the explicit, raw beauty of human imperfection, for five years. After years of working for not-for-profit arts organizations, Natasha turned her attention back to health care communications, as she currently works as the Health Sciences Centre Foundation's Marketing and Communications Director. Natasha is also a sessional instructor at the University of Winnipeg (Professional, Applied, Continuing Education) for their Effective Written Communication course, the Creating a Social Media Policy & Managing Social Media Crises microcredit, and the Handling Issues and Crisis in Social Media seminar.
