Profile bio

About Natasha J.

I am a multilingual, Latin American Affairs & Policy expert, with specialized expertise on the themes of policy, gender equality, and urban planning in Latin America. Holding a Master's in International Relations with a specialization in Latin America from Stanford University, my passions lie in constructing safe and inclusive public spaces in Latin American cities. In 2022-2023 I was selected as the only Fulbright Public Policy Initiative (PPI) grantee in the U.S. As a Fulbright PPI, I pursued a fellowship with the United Nations Women Mexico in Mexico City, contributing to the transformation of safety narratives through the Safe Cities for Women and Girls Program. Furthering equipping my expertise on urban policy in Latin America was my Master's program at Stanford. My graduate research utilized QGIS and mapping analysis to highlight the spatial dynamics of women's safety in the public transportation system of Mexico City. Fluent in English, Spanish, and Portuguese, with advanced policy analysis, and qualitative and quantitative research skills, I am passionate about continuing this work and advancing gender-responsive solutions to urban public policy in Latin America and globally.
