As the Director of Operations at R&R Cultivation, I lead the farm's production and oversee multiple teams to ensure operational success across all areas. Starting in hands-on roles, including the Mix & Bag and Inoculation teams, I advanced to Block Lead, where I managed the colonization of over 15,000 mushroom fruiting blocks, covering 12+ species. I also contributed to lab management, developing processes that reduced contamination, sped up colonization times, and boosted yields.In my tenure, I’ve also served as Operations Manager and Production Lead, helping scale production from 700 lbs to 7,000-8,000 lbs per week and growing the farm’s reach from local, to national and international markets. I’ve led over 100 employees across 12 production areas, fostering leadership, improving systems, and driving quality and efficiency. My work includes team training, performance management, and creating communication tools that streamline coordination and accountability.Growing up on the path of an Eagle Scout, I got to spend much of my childhood outdoors, fascinated by natures wonders. Early on, I developed a strong passion for the outdoors and our environment. This passion led me to pursue a double major in biology and environmental studies at the University of St. Thomas, where I gained an understanding of the most pressing anthropogenic and ecological challenges facing our world. My involvement in various sustainability-focused organizations and programs, such as the Sustainability LLC, Student Sustainability Leaders Program, and Minnesota Student Sustainability Network, further solidified my commitment to sustainability.Through my experiences as a scuba dive team manager, researcher, teaching assistant, crew leader, and student sustainability leader, I've developed strong leadership, problem-solving, and communication skills. In school, these skills were honed through my involvement in nearly a dozen research projects across the United States and abroad.I’m always open to connecting with like-minded professionals, whether it’s to exchange ideas, explore collaborations, or share insights.
