- Contributed to and deployed a sophisticated synthetic data pipeline to serve training datasets to customers in the Autonomous Vehicle domain tailored to improve their model performance across various learning tasks, including semantic segmentation, object tracking/detection, depth estimation, visual odometry, optical/scene flow, and scene reconstruction.- Wrote data encoding scripts to convert data from PD’s internal schema and ontology to that of the customer, so that it would be compatible with their data ingestion pipelines. These scripts were parallelized at both the inter- and intra-machine level so that large datasets with multiple annotations across millions of frames could be converted in reasonable amounts of time.- Provided consultation for customer ML teams in driving value from their yearly synthetic data allotments. This included determining where our capabilities and their needs had the most overlap, and iterating on training results to tune our data generation process in order to drive the best performance in their models by minimizing the synthetic to real domain gap.- Built tools to visualize datasets and their statistics to inform the data generation process and identify issues.- Experimented with using synthetic data to drive positive signals on public benchmark datasets like KITTI and Cityscapes using state of the art training architectures from academic literature.- Participated in research on all topics related to computer vision and synthetic data to find opportunities for advancing our product, and contributed to an archive of research summaries covering these investigations.
