Over a decade of experience working within fair trade certification, which includes working closely with producers and market partners on growing fair trade impact across industries and producing structures (produce, seafood, factory, cpg, coffee); training on certification compliance; coordinating verification improvements; stakeholder engagement; developed first fair trade certification for global north and US producers; internal operational alignment; team merging and restructuring.Working as a Spanish-English court interpreter in northern California brought refined attention and language skills and kick-started the learning process about workers' issues from the collaboration on hundreds of court cases, medical appointments, and workers' compensation hearings. Other past experiences include supporting indigenous businesses in southern and central Mexican communities with market expansion efforts of artisanal products, as well as working as a market research consultant within the agriculture and packing machinery industries. Studying anthropology and development policy have provided tools to help understand the structural angle to problems and solutions. The equal focus on business and data analysis has provided additional tools on the operational needs of running projects, programs and businesses. The combination of both sides has resulted in a strong foundation for being able to understand needs and support the activation of successful social responsibility within businesses and communities.
