Privacy and data protection are rapidly growing areas in the legal profession, particularly in industries like health care where patient data needs to be secured and protected. A purpose driven lawyer and Certified Information Privacy Professional (CIPP/US) with a 25+ year background not only representing, but owning my own businesses, I appreciate the nuances and complexity of commercial decision making. My focus on health care law has led me on a path over the past decade toward the exponentially developing body of law governing IoT, cybersecurity and privacy. Maintaining up-to-date knowledge of federal and international privacy and data security law, I understand the intricacies in this arena and can effectively manage the associated risks. Cybersecurity, cyberlaw, and the future of privacy law and policy in a time of continuous data explosion and new technologies are areas that particularly interest me. For the last 5+ years, I have served as general counsel and compliance and privacy officer for companies utilizing telemedicine technology in post-acute patient treatment, and I currently serve in that role for HomeSleep, LLC, a company which specializes in diagnostic testing for sleep apnea. I am a member of the New York State and Connecticut State Bars, as well as the United States District Court Bars, Southern District and Eastern District of New York.
