Served as an intern for the Transmissions and Utilities Group at Freese and Nichols, their main scope of work covers the design of pipelines, pump stations, and water storage tanks. Major tasks completed over the course of the internship include:• Redrew water and sewer line profiles in order to have required clearances from various utilities, and researched to find the required clearance values and where casings were needed in TCEQ regulations.• Studied CCTV footage and PACP reports of existing sewers to determine their condition, and created a graphic in Arc GIS and Bluebeam for the city showing the state of the existing sewer network in the proposed location of a project.• Extracted data from pump cut sheets and created pump curves in Excel for multiple pumps for comparison in the pump selection process for a new pump station.• Consulted record drawings to find the exact location of pre-existing utilities in the plan and profile of a project.• Revised plan sets and project manuals based on comments from clients, contractors, or other engineering firms, as well as backchecked similar comments for projects.• Counted quantities and researched unit prices for project OPCCs.• Organized plan sets and project manuals checking for all materials were included in submissions, in the right order, and all highlighted comments were addressed before submittal.• Double checked work of other coworkers to check for any errors when reviewing a project.
