My name is Nathan Hilton and I am originally from Ohio and moved around quite often due to my father being in the military. Having to move around often helped me develop good communication skills as I was always having to make new friends everywhere I went. Growing up my mother worked in a pharmacy. I would spend a good amount of time there and I just remember how friendly and caring everyone who worked there was to me and the patients who would come in. I credit this as being one of the reasons I decided to pursue a career in pharmacy. Some many years later when I was in undergrad, I was having trouble figuring out what to do with my life. I didn’t even know what I wanted to major in. I’ve always wanted my career to have a meaning and I wanted to make a difference on people’s lives. As I progressed through school, I started to really enjoy all my chemistry classes. I took a pharmacology elective and thats when I decided that this is what I wanted to do. It reminded me of when I was younger and listening to the pharmacists talk to the patients about their different meds and how it will help them. As I now enter my 4th year in pharmacy school, I plan to continue to develop skills and build on my knowledge of medicine so I can bring valuable skills and fresh ideas to the field of pharmacy.
