- Project was successfully launched August 12, 2015 out of Wallops Flight Facility, Virginia- Project consisted of...Designing: SolidWorks 3D modeling, 2D detailed drawings, assembly drawings, and final assembly manual.Integration of Electrical Components: 5 PCB's (1 four layered central board controlling all functionality of payload using interfaces with rockets telemetry and 4 micro-boards that monitor temperature and pressure inside the camera box housings), 4 NEMA 14 stepper motors, and 4 GoPro Hero 3: Silver Edition cameras.Manufacturing (using lathe and CNC mill): Camera box housing, camera box lid, camera box sealing ring, camera box risers, electronics box housing, electronics box lid, stainless steal led screw, stainless steal power nut, TPFE power nut, and weight reduction on camera box housings to meet our 15 ± 0.5 lbs weight requirement.Payload Testing: Deployment testing in various orientations using breadboard circuit and portable GSC, vacuum testing using bell jar, and rocket environmental testing out at Wallops Flight Facility (including rocket telemetry test, rocket vibration test, and rocket skirt deployment test while payload was integrated).
