About Nathan Marwell, Phd

I am an economist currently working as a data scientist at Plaid. I love working on problems at the intersection of econometrics and machine learning and am passionate about building products that rely on economic modeling, optimization and prediction.Prior to Plaid I worked on pricing algorithms at Uber. I have a PhD in Economics from Wisconsin-Madison where my research focused on industrial organization and applied microeconomics. In graduate school, I developed new empirical methods for modeling dynamic contribution behaviors, which I applied to studying how different fundraising models in crowdfunding markets affect donor and fundraiser behavior.
