Capricorn society is Australasia's largest automotive cooperative. We're a member based organization and we provide consolidated billing, loans, travel and insurance to our 25,000 members.I am the Developer Team Lead for our mission critical systems, including key financial systems (such as Epicor ERP). We process in excess of AU$2.8 billion of revenue per annum. Currently my team has 8 developers, providing functionality such as financial processing, customer and relationship management, member and supplier statements, shares, and insurance. I was also an the Test Team Lead for a period of 18 months; managing 4 testers, adding additional focus to automation testing, exploring SnapShot Testing and breaking down the silos between Devs and Testers to ensure quality, reliability and efficiency in the team. I'm a big advocate of moving QA to the left, because the earlier a problem is detected in a process, the cheaper, faster, and easier it is to fix. Recent milestones include delivery applications to assist in CRM of our Automotive and Risk division members (Trident and Phoenix). Delivery of a system to help match Members parts requests with Suppliers (CapEzi Parts), and integration of a new Loans Platform (Optimus). Also Woolworths B2B integration, Rewards platform integration, and a bespoke micro-services based Financial Transaction engine that processes over 150,000 transactions per day.Reliability is the key metric for us and we're focused on Agile development, Continuous Integration and Deployment, Test Driven Development, Manual and Automated Testing and just continuously improving as a team.
