Royal Haskoning is a leading, independent multi-disciplinary architectural & engineering design consultant group from the Netherlands, founded in 1881. In May 2008, Nathan joined Royal Haskoning as Design Director and Studio Leader for architecture within Vietnam. Employed as part of Royal Haskoning’s dedication to diversify their project types within Asia and due to his key experience across a number of key sectors. He led the design of a broad range of high-profile schemes, over various sectors, including Office & Residential Towers, Sports & Leisure, Healthcare, Industrial and Interior Design projects.As well as running projects, Nathan was also responsible for on operational and administrate of the Architectural Studio, with particular responsibilities for change management and improvements of the business performance and profitability. He also supporting the Cambodian regional office in developing their architectural offering.

Atlas Industries is an outsource services which offers architectural companies ‘back-of-office’ resource support from its operations centre in Saigon, Viet Nam. In May 2006, Nathan joined Atlas Industries as part of the strategic leadership group with responsibility for Quality. He was responsible for the set up, growth and procedural developments, as well as the day-to-day management of a 40+ strong team, which includes Project Architects, Architects, and Technicians through the use of supportive leadership skills which inspired and motivated the teams. This often required support in assisting Project Architects to prepare detailed project plans, define scope of works, team structures, budgets, and project programmes as a minimum. He works in collaboration with a number of the UK top practices including Make Architects, Squire&Partners, Dyer Group, HOK, BDP, PRP Architects to develop designs and deliver first class solutions, through innovation and developed working procedures.

S&P are one of the UK’s leading leisure specialists. Their workload has continued to increase ensuring that UK’s Leisure facilities are fit-for-purpose. In November 2003, Nathan joined S&P Architects; he initially led the package documentation for a Visage, the luxury residential development in Swiss Cottage, London. The development was later awarded a number of different accolades since completion. Other leading projects included supporting the London 2012 Olympic Aquatic Centre bid and on-going design development through both Olympic, Overlay and Legacy modes based on IOC requirements. In addition, he led the design team for the Brighton International Arena, a competition-winning scheme for a flagship mixed-use development on Brighton sea-front.

The Hauseman Group is specialized in Hotels design and led major roll out programs for hotels, including the Ramada, Holiday Inn prototype and Hawthorne Suites within the UK. In February 2001, Nathan joined The Hauseman Group; he initially led the design of the first Hawthorne Suites Hotel in the UK. The philosophy behind the development was to provide an extended stay facility that provided a home-away-from-home. This project was later delayed, and the original design later resurrected as a Ramada Hotel & Suites. He also contributed to a number of other Hotel projects across England, as well as an Office Development in Scotland. Nathan was later made redundant as a result of The Hauseman Group entering into receivership.

As one of the top-100 listed architectural practices in the UK, RHWL Architects creates innovative buildings and award-winning architecture.In May 2000, Nathan joined RHWL Architects on a ‘contract’ basis; he worked solely on the competition-winning Riverside House speculative office development. The remodelling of this 1960’s existing building incorporates over 17,000m² open plan office, and 3,000m² of retail and restaurants units orientated and accessible from Riverside Walk, creating a lively and attractive atmosphere. As part of his role, he played a key role in the delivery of the majority of key interior spaces packages, whilst assisting other package Architects on a number of external packages.

GHK Architects specialises in sensitive contemporary and traditional design for sustainable projects that include new build, refurbishment and historic conservation.In August 1999, Nathan joined GHK Architects; he worked solely on the complete refurbishment of a duplex Penthouse Suite located in Holland Park. He led the concept design solutions which included rationalisation and re-organisation of the existing layout, whilst also providing continued design and technical assistance upto Tender Stage to provide information for the Main Contractor to allow vision to become reality. After the completion of this project, there was a reduction in workflow in the office, forcing me to find employment elsewhere.
