Hello, my name is Nathan Brookins. I am a sport professional who has a passion to bring inclusion and acceptance through the power of sport. I believe that sport has the power to bridge differences and even the playing field no matter the background of the persons involved. I am truly blessed to be in the role of Senior Director of Sports for Special Olympics North Carolina and a part of the movement as a full time staff member for over six years. In my current role I have been able to work on projects, manage events and work with hundreds of people to bring the joy of sport to those with intellectual disabilities. I have had the pleasure of leading a youth pair of different abilities to a global Youth Leadership Forum in Baku, Azerbaijan, serving as the Head of Delegation (lead manager) of Team Special Olympics North Carolina for the 2022 Special Olympics USA Games and many more opportunities to show the power of sport. As a former Project Manager in an agricultural and residential construction company I have proven success in managing multiple projects while providing quality customer service. Projects that I managed or assisted in managing include the building of the stables and Stable House Inn at Tryon at the largest equestrian facility in North America at the Tryon International Equestrian Center. In addition, I assisted in the building of the largest equine facility for the Biltmore Estate in Asheville, North Carolina. On a personal note, I am a proud father of two incredible young boys and a husband to an incredibly strong and amazing woman. My family is what I am most proud of and I strive to be the best husband and father I can be every day. That is a little bit about me. I look forward to connecting with you. Nathan
