For example, Nat transformed Omnicell from a Waterfall to an Agile company. Nat started the process in Engineering but faced stiff resistance from the rest of the company. Nat was able to navigate all the hardship and stayed resilient to his original vision after about 2 years. Not only was engineering transformed but the entire company, from sales, marketing to operations and support were able to see the benefit of a consistent release train. Nat is an effective leader of both hardware and software engineering teams. Nat led Omnicell’s development of a patient care drawer for a major US hospital. It is truly a 0->1 product, both new hardware and software. It is a complex product that requires strong security, yet easy and quick access by nursing and pharmacy; also with complex integration with rest of hospital systems. Nat is the overall engineering leader for this project. Nat is not only able to set vision for how a new product could be used for but also scrappy with reusing knowledge and existing technology from engineering to optimize the schedule. The project was a resounding success and we were able to meet the challenging hospital opening schedule! Nat is a caring and supportive manager at developing other people’s careers. Nat consistently provided me with opportunities that pushed me out of my comfort zones. He followed up with continuous support. I remember meeting with him daily on one difficult assignment and getting daily inputs from him which taught me a great deal on navigating complex engineering organizational challenges. Nat is just fun to be with! It is difficult to put this section in writing so the best way to experience how much fun Nat brings to work is to go on a business trip with him! I directly reported to Nat at Omnicell from 2006 to 2020. Nat has consistently supported me in my career growth for those 14 years. He was the reason I stayed at Omnicell till 2020.
