Read and interpret technical drawings and schematics. Conduct research in support of design proposals, specifications, and manuals to help evaluate the feasibility, cost, and/or maintenance requirements of designs. Select and specify components or direct modification of existing products to ensure conformance with engineering design and performance specifications. Investigate product/equipment for out of specification conditions, assembly/use difficulties and/or failures to diagnose faulty operation and to make recommendations for improvements; Document the design of products, using CAD design/drafting tools. Test and analyze the feasibility, design, operation and performance of equipment, components, and systems; Develop and test alternate designs and processing methods to assess feasibility, operating condition effects, possible new applications and necessity of modifications; Assist in investigations of non-conformances and recommend corrective action to prevent reoccurrence.
