PROBLEM-SOLVING SKILLS• Brought in, as part of a three-member team, to create a new career center at the Boyers, PA location, named the Center for Innovative Learning and Professional Growth (CILPG). Due to space and budget limitations, much of the equipment we were expecting did not materialize. This was solved by utilizing existing resources and developing our own materials.DEVELOPED TRAINING• Created a “Federal Resume Course” that was presented by trainers located in the main office of OPM in Washington, DC.• Personally developed training courses on Goal Setting, Persuasion, Dealing w/ Difficult People, Time Management, Communication w/ Customers, and Building TrustPRESENTATION SKILLS• Presented over 60+ courses that I developed through the fiscal year to employees of OPM at a wide range of career levels.• Based on the successful feedback from participants from Ft. Meade, was asked to give “remote” presentations to be able to reach more employees with no travel expenses. Over 4 remote sessions, over 75 employees were able to attend the training.• Represented OPM as a facilitator of “Career Power” to a group of 25 federal employees in Kansas City over two days. Eight different government agencies were in attendance. One attendee commented on the evaluation that “(The course) was the most effective training I have had in a decade.”AWARDS & RECOGNITION• Nominated by my peers and received recognition in “The OPM Messenger” as OPM employee who “demonstrated a commitment to providing service to the disabled community” during National Disability Employment Awareness Month. (October 2012)• Presented during OPM’s first “FedDue Day” a suggestion for OPM to become involved at the National Veterans Wheelchair Games by holding a hiring event on site during the games. Director John Berry enthusiastically selected my idea to “champion” out of the 15 presentations submitted, giving his “100% support” and promise to make the idea a reality.

PROVIDES DIRECTION AND LEADERSHIP• Discovering a need that VA employees have for overcoming obstacles in applying for positions using a new system (USAJOBS), I took the initiative and started compiling information and offering courses on USAJOBS and resumes. • Collaborated on the creation of the Workforce Development and Career Services Center, which came about due to the increased demand for one-on-one assistance stemming from the success of the courses that I presented on USAJOBS.gov that were available to all employees.• Designed a 42 page handout to help internal and external candidates apply for positions using USAJOBS.gov.• Developed, with subject matter experts, courses related to Human Resources that are offered to employees.• Organized and planned quarterly New Supervisor Orientations with over 10 different presenters. MONITORED SUPERVISORY TRAINING • Effectively tracked and entered new supervisors in the ECF (Executive Career Field) database as they progressed through the Nuts & Bolts program, ensuring that performance measurements are exceeded.• Organized sharepoint site for Mid-Term Performance Reviews so that completion percentages were easily tracked. Set up a master spreadsheet used to report to the director and set all permissions for the service lines so information could remain secure and private. • Consulted with supervisors to determine what subjects they would like included on the Supervisory Learning Calendar.• Volunteered for the 2012 National Wheelchair Games in Pittsburgh and served on the awards committee. Our committee received praise for the award ceremonies and the least amount of unclaimed medals in the history of the Wheelchair Games. This reduced the extra costs of mailing the medals to a minimal amount. Based on my experience, I was asked to attend the 2013 Wheelchair Games in Richmond, Virginia as an adviser to their awards committee.
Brought in to turn around an under performing store.
