General Dynamics Electric Boat is the lead shipyard for the design, construction and life-cycle support of US Navy nuclear submarines. As an engineer in the Ship Signatures department I developed and analyzed computer models which simulate and predict the acoustic signature of current and future classes of submarines. This includes investigating and evaluating modeling techniques and assumptions to understand sensitivities and improve accuracy and validating models against relevant ship data. Utilizing these models, I proposed design guidance to the US Navy submarine community which was implemented to improve the stealth capabilities of future submarines.
