Hello! I'm Natalie, a master’s student studying Climate & Energy at UCSB's Bren School of Environmental Science & Management. My professional interests lie at the intersection of the natural and built environment, focusing on climate adaptation, resilient landscapes, built ecology, urban biodiversity, and nature-based solutions.My lifelong passion for the environment was reignited while standing at the edge of the Los Angeles River. I was surprised to see a Great Blue Heron perched on a grassy island, submerging its head underwater in search of food. Growing up, I had known the river only as a dry, concrete channel, blending into the cityscape. This unexpected pocket of biodiversity revealed the transformative power of restoration and reinforced my commitment to building climate resilience within urban spaces.With a background in music, art, and ecology, I bring a unique blend of creativity and analytical thinking to my work in environmental science and management. I’m an action-oriented, enthusiastic, and strategic thinker who thrives in collaborative environments.
