As Co-Owner, I am responsible for ongoing business development; fiscal aspects of the company; accounts payable; staff development and recruiting; human resources; program development and implementation; computer software and application profiency; bookkeeping/accounting; company advertising; program evaluation; community services; research; and appropriate legal education/utilization with state agencies such as the State Board of Equalization and various business organizations local and out of area.

Responsible for the planning, assignment, and directing of professionally trained classes of Children’s Social Services Workers performing difficult/complex casework in protective services; assists in the development of community resources, in service training and staff development programs; evaluates the effectiveness of policies and procedures; represents the Department on matters relating to the service aspects of programs; evaluates the performance of subordinates and takes or recommends appropriate courses of action; directs and prepares research studies/reports; conducts field visits; attends meetings and trainings; and utilizes a centralized database to review work, assign cases, approve various case actions, and much more. Also supervised other programs such as Independent Living in which my staff consisted of a unit of seven social workers, carrying over 60 secondary assignment cases each in which helping foster children prepare for emancipation was focus. My duties included having the ability to plan, organize, direct, supervise and evaluate the provision of child welfare services or provision of administrative services to clients in my unit; apply productive problem solving skills; prepare, implement, and evaluate on-the-job training for new staff; analyze and evaluate operational and fiscal programs, projects, and procedures; establish and maintain effective working relationships with subordinate staff, management, employee unions, community and civic groups, elected officials and representatives of other governmental agencies; communicate effectively; analyze, interpret, and explain detailed information; prepare clear, concise and logical oral and written reports; understand, interpret, and apply the laws, regulations, and policies applicable to public social service programs, various initiatives, and related funding allocations.
