Consultancy work - dealing with residual aircraft securitisation issues and liquidation of special purpose aircraft leasing and financing vehicles no longer required following the sale of the underlying aircraft portfolio and early termination of the related financing structure (see below).

Provider of commercial, financial and operational lease management services to the BAE Systems fleet of regional aircraft and related special purpose leasing and financing companies. The number of aircraft under management ranged from 150 to 450 with corresponding asset values of US$400m to US$2.1bn.In charge of Portfolio Management team which acted as servicer for a complex aircraft securitisation involving 14 special purpose vehicles in 6 offshore jurisdictions (including Cayman Islands, Jersey, Ireland, Australia) which owned and leased aircraft to airlines worldwide and provided the financing structure for the aircraft. Principal responsibilities:Management of complex US$2.1bn securitisation providing finance for aircraft leasing companies and ensuring compliance with all bondholder obligations. Full financial management of special purpose aircraft leasing and financing companies including management and statutory accounts, budgets, cashflow forecasts, full treasury management (including hedging of interest rate and FX exposures), accounting for aircraft acquisitions, disposals and leases (operating and finance), maintenance reserves, security deposits, asset impairment testing, group consolidations of multi-jurisdictional entities.Management of contracts of aircraft leasing and financing companies including review of all lease documentation, ensuring continual compliance by lessees and lessors, monitoring of all future contractual events.Full support to boards of aircraft leasing and financing companies ensuring they had all information necessary to consider asset acquisitions, sales and leases. Preparation of board papers, attendance at all board meetings, guiding directors through the business, presentations to board meetings.Full company secretarial support provided to locally appointed company secretaries in offshore jurisdictions.Management of annual department budget of US$3m.

In charge of team of 5 people.Principal responsibilities:Management of all aspects of administration and accounting for aircraft leasing companies including management accounts, preparation of annual statutory accounts, group consolidations, accounting for treasury instruments, budgets and cashflow forecasts.

Treasury management (debt, surplus cash, interest rate and FX risks). Introduction of group netting system for intercompany payments and integration of treasury activities within newly acquired group of companies.

Assisting in preparation of group and subsidiary statutory accounts.

Holding company for all healthcare interests of Compagnie Générale des Eaux outside France including the largest private hospital operator in the UK (General Healthcare Group plc). Turnover £250 million.In charge of team of 2 people.Principal responsibilities:Preparation of multi-currency consolidations including overseas subsidiaries and associates, acquisitions, disposals, budgets and forecasts including all group reporting to Compagnie Générale des Eaux.Preparation of group statutory accounts company monthly management accounts including all treasury reporting. All lease accounting within the group involving major items of capital equipment for use in hospitals.Group treasury function including management of surplus cash and all related accounting, planning and budgeting. Hedging of group debt and subsequent management of derivatives and all accounting for these instruments.Debt management for group, responsible for debt portfolio of up to £380 million, involving approximately 15 different banks and various types of facilities, and ensuring bank covenants satisfied. Assisted Finance Director in negotiating new facilities. Management of clearing bank relationships ranging from day to day matters, to putting clearing bank contract out to tender and negotiating tariffs for bank charges.

Principal responsibilities:Preparation of all group consolidated financial reporting including UK group consolidations, UK group statutory accounts, consolidated budgets and forecasts.Responsible for collation and review of monthly results from operating units and the subsequent production of monthly management accounts including key financial and statistical indicators of performance for distribution to management.

Joined General Practice Department in September 1987. Qualified as a Chartered Accountant in December 1990. Secondments to Tax and Insolvency Departments. Joined Executive and Benefit Services Department in March 1992.
