I am a qualified and NMC registered mental health nurse, and have experience of working within NHS services, Independent Sector Organisations, and the Charity Sector. I have a vast amount of knowledge, skills, and experience in dealing with situations from both a strategic and operational perspective for both mental health illness and safeguarding over the past 20+ years.I have a proven track record in leadership and project management from my roles at Cygnet and Leicestershire Partnership Trust (LPT).My 14 years of formally working in safeguarding (plus my time clinically working in Mental Health Services) has enabled me to recognise the importance of, and the need for protections and safeguards. This makes it a very exciting time to become a part of the leadership team to develop and roll out the trusts strategy, monitoring and response. The measures of ‘what does success look like?’ My curriculum was called ‘Making a Difference’ and it is a part of this mantra that has followed me throughout my career – to continue to make a difference, I apply lifelong learning. I have worked on high-profile cases or for high-profile organisations when at the NSPCC – confidentiality is sacrosanct and therefore my assurance regarding this remaining the case remains evident. I am an excellent communicator, and based on feedback from a variety of sources in a variety of settings should provide confidence of employing a high calibre individual who can effectively communicate. I have written multi-paged detailed reports, investigations, daily records, and all the time the feedback has been regarding the effective written communication skills. Through the push and pull of multi-agency working, and all the different competing demands – I have become a skilled negotiator and effective communicator.
