Almost 21 years at the heart of a leading global financial lines insurer provided a deep insight and understanding across all disciplines (underwriting, operations, claims, GC, actuarial, HR).I joined Chubb in 1996 as a development underwriter. Successive roles included Northern Region Manager, UK&I Underwriting Manager and UK&I Manager for Executive Protection. On acquisition of Chubb by Ace, I was appointed to the role of UK&I Management Liability Manager. Over the 21 year period, some of my roles and responsibilities have included:- Full cycle product development across multiple lines – from original idea, through strategy, project planning, contract construction, design of marketing content and distribution to market;- Designated subject matter expert across multiple lines of business;- Design, execution and delivery of annual technical training for all UK&I underwriters across a wide range of subject matters;- UK&I referral sign off for all lines of business;- Manuscripting of bespoke policy wordings;- Management of team of underwriters across UK&I and establishment of a centralised renewal underwriting centre.
